Provides technical assistance and training to community health centers
The Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN) is a nonprofit Primary Care Association who is committed to enhancing and expanding access to quality, community-responsive healthcare for Nebraska’s medically underserved and uninsured. Members of HCAN are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) that provide medical, dental and behavioral health services for nearly 85,000 Nebraskans. HCAN was established in 2011 and is funded primarily through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
The Health Center Association of Nebraska:
Networks with organizations at the regional and national level for healthcare excellence and equity
Promotes healthcare workforce development, recruitment and retention
Partners with communities to expand services and meet the needs of the medically underserved
Educates Nebraskans on the mission, services and value of community health centers
Promotes the cost-effective delivery of affordable, quality primary health care services, with a special emphasis on meeting the needs of uninsured, low income and medically underserved populations
